SPICED BANANA SPLIT
This is a recipe we make time and time again. It uses basic ingredients and is the perfect sweet little mouthful for the end of a dinner party – like a grown up banana split.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 2
1 large banana
1tbsp soft butter
1tsp Rooted allspice
1tbsp golden syrup
Vanilla ice cream, to serve
Cut the banana into six thick, diagonal slices.
Heat the butter in a frying pan over a gentle heat. Just as it's starting to foam, add the allspice and cook for a for a further 20 seconds, until aromatic.
Stir in the golden syrup, so the sauce thickens into a caramel. Place the bananas in the pan and cook for 2 minutes until one side is just starting to crisp. Flip and repeat.
Serve with ice cream.
