With this blend it couldn’t be easier to make a daal from scratch. It contains all the spices you need for a basic daal, meaning that there’s no need for spooning and measuring out. Simply follow the instructions below, and have a delicious-tasting daal every time.
RECIPE (Serves 2)
Rinse 200g of red lentils, and simmer in 800ml of water. Meanwhile, fry 1 diced onion in oil until soft, and add 2tsp Rooted Daal Blend. Once the lentils are soft, stir in the spiced onions. Season with lemon juice and (optional) salt.

The mix of spices make this a particularly wholesome blend. Turmeric is known as a powerful anti-inflammatory, while the piperine found in black pepper is proven to enhance the way that the body absorbs nutrients. What’s more, the capsaicin found in cayenne and Kashmiri Chilli, is thought to boost the metabolism, burn calories and satiate appetite.
Our Daal Blend should be stored in a dark, airtight container, to retain its potency. Keep packs away from steam, as humidity will cause the blend to clump.
